About Michelai
I'm Michelai Graham, a California native who has been away from home since 2011. I studied at Michigan State University, earning my B.A. in journalism and my B.A. in media and information in 2016. While living in Washington, D.C., for six years, I earned my M.A. in journalism and public affairs with an emphasis on investigative reporting in 2018.
I have experience in investigative journalism and news writing across various topics, most notably technology, startups, businesses, cryptocurrency, and crime. After freelance reporting for AfroTech, Lifewire, The Plug, HubSpot, and a couple of other publications for a year, I rejoined the full-time workforce as a Web3 reporter at Boardroom in March 2022.
Off the clock, you can find me producing my crime podcast, The Point of No Return, alongside my co-host Amanda Washington. We chronicle cold case murders, crimes, and mysteries and share our theories on what we think really went down. I've also been editing adult books and poetry collections in between my writing.
My oracle and affirmation cards, crystals, journaling, and working out keep me grounded. In my spare spare time, I also enjoy reading fantasy and sci-fi books, binging true crime series with espresso martinis or beer, and doing puzzles, even though I take ages to finish them. I'm a work in progress; hopefully, you will find something on my site to connect with!
