I'm sorry for the wait, too.
Seriously, I am, but do you see what I've been working on? Surprise! At the beginning of this year, I set some Black Girl Magic *BGC* goals for myself and remodeling/mass updating my website was one of the major tasks. I've added some content, archived others and gave this place a fresher look. My favorite upgrade is the blog layout so cheers to my new platform. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
So much has happened for me this past year. I'm taking 2018 to maximize on myself, my career and my dreams. I've greatly improved my reporting skills. I landed a new internship. I got me a new MacBook Air y'all so I'm back to work. There was nothing major wrong with my MacBook Pro, it was just 6 years old. It was time.
I've finally joined the Washington D.C. Alumnae Chapter of DST! I'm so excited to get back into Delta and community service. Call me crazy but I missed those long chapter meetings. WDCAC has already made me feel right at home though and I love it.
As I continue maintaining my website, I'm exploring new ways to share my insights about the shows I watch and I want to be as informative as possible. If you're just now joining my blog, I mostly watch shows in these categories: Sci- Fi, Drama, Fantasy, Horror, Magical, Thriller, Crime (Crime Fiction), Supernatural, Apocalyptic and Post-Apocalyptic Fiction, Adventure and Mystery. I'm venturing more into the Drama realm as well.
I've started some new shows in the past year such as:
The Travelers
Between
Insecure
The Shannnara Chronicles
This is Us
TBH, I love them all.
Between is a Canadian drama series so the acting is a little different from American dramas but I'm still here for it. The Shannara Chronicles is amazing and the cinematography is always on point. The Travelers is a Netflix classic and tackles futuristic concepts uniquely.
I was neglecting This is Us for awhile because I just knew it would be a tear-jerker. This show has easily became one of my favorites, a top 5 even. Mandy Moore always amazes me with her acting but the entire cast is stellar. Sterling K. Brown is so deserving of the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series Drama golden globe. He really exudes everything Randall should be.
Insecure. Issa Rae. Phenomenal. The finale of the recent season still has me shook. I have never been so into a show like I am into Insecure. I normally record all of my shows and watch them during my own quiet time but I can never wait on this one, I have to watch it real time. I look forward to seeing what Issa comes up with next!
Stick with me y'all, you'll be seeing so much more of what I've been up to. Check out my videos, photography, articles, etc and feel free to ask questions or comment on anything you would like! I'm always looking for guidance and constructive criticism about my work.
Mich.
